3402 or 828-559-4044. 2013 COMMUNITY THE McDOWELL Breakfast From Page 1A the classroom for the first part of the morning. The Boohoo Breakfast was designed so that support staff could help any parents who may be a little down because their child is going to school for the first time, and for those who are celebrating their child's first day of school." Among those sitting at the tables lined with tissues and party blowers were Sally McClure and her younger daughter, Millie. McClure stated that her household had been anxious about her son Silas' first day of school. "We've all been a little nervous and anxious about school starting," said McClure.

"This morning when I dropped my son off at class he said he was good and that I could leave. Today has been a little sad, but I think things will get easier because I still have my daughter at home with me." Like McClure, Aprille Bailey's son, Andrew, didn't have trouble adjusting to school. "This morning went smoothly," said Bailey. "I thought it would be hard for him, but he really was fine with going into class. This morning wasn't as bad for me as last night.

I cried then. Today I'm just a little sad about him going to school." Janice Sigmon and her granddaughter, Konstance Brown, arrived at school on the wrong day, but still enjoyed talking to others at the school function. For Konstance, waiting to go to class was a bigger deal than leaving her grandmother's house for the classroom. "I wanted to ride the bus and go to school today," said the rambunctious youngster who was celebrating her early arrival at the school by blowing a party blower. "I've got my bookbag ready and Parents said they were relieved that they had got to talk with others about the separation anxiety they were feeling.

"I've heard of other schools doing this kind of breakfast and it's great," said McClure. "I think we all worry about our kids on their first day of school. It's only natural." Breakfast Deaths landfuneralhome.com. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Annie Smith MARION Mrs.

State Auditor Beth Wood on Thursday released findings of an investigation that originated from a tip.

Auditors say she took home the first laptop, which appeared to work properly and her son used at Appalachian State University.
